The Cartoonist Kayfabe youtube channel put up their official October drawing prompts last month to get people in the creative mind. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether for just a day or two or to draw every day’s picture (if you’re crazy like me)! Like so many other artists, I find that drawing daily is the best exercise to grow artistic skills, having the best comics community on the internet cheering everyone on is just like the gravy on top!
I’m posting my daily pictures on my Instagram and twitter and facebook if you all want to follow along, or just check the hashtag #kayfabeTober to see the army of artists drawing every day!
If you have any to spare, likes, retweets and shares really encourage artists, money encourages us too but it’s more expensive than a thumbs up!
Seriously though, in 2020 when things were looking pretty grim for your favorite doctor, I found the youtube channel and community that Ed Piskor & Jim Rugg created. Everyone helped to inspire and encourage each other to make comics during those dark days of lockdowns and insanity, for that I’m more thankful than I can put into words. So this is my sort of collective thank you to Ed, Jim, Eli, Will, Rick, Jerome, Rocko, Peter, Adam, Brian, Craig CK, Anthony, Greg, Ro, Tony, Double D, Sam, Rykus and just fricken’ everybody!
